Dala Sweater

I finally had some knitting mojo back and as a H-U-G-E goal for myself for the end of the year, I challenged myself to make/start three (3!) sweaters over my long 3-week vacation.  To start, I decided that I was going to finally make my Dala Sweater.  With my Chiaogoo Needles and beloved Malabrigo Sock Yarn, here's how my adventure went:

12/13/23 cast on, finished to row 11 of the neck line.

12/14/23 redid row 11 (wrong needle size!🤦), finished to row 25, ready to start on the chart! 🙌🥳

12/15/23 chart! row 26-33 (chart row 1-7)

12/16/23 chart! row 34-43 (chart row 8-17)

12/17/23 chart! row 44-51 (chart row 18-25)

12/18/23 chart! row 52-59 (chart row 26-33)

12/19/23 chart! row 60-65 (chart row 34-39)

12/20/23 chart! row 66-75 (chart row 40-49)  I couldn't believe how long it took me to just get through the chart portion ... I know I'm knitting with sock yarn and the chart was very straight forward but for some reason or another, it took me f-o-r-e-v-e-r to get through it.  Oddly, I could only do a couple of rows a day ... I was lucky if I could do ten (10) rows a day. 😳🤷😔  Now that I was finally done, it was time to split for the sleeves and the body!

12/21/23 row 76-95 (20 rows) k

12/22/23 row 96-125 (30 rows) k

12/23/23 row 126-145 (20 rows) k

12/24/23 row 146-168 (23 rows) k

12/25/23 row 169-175 (7 rows) k for a total of 100 rows for 28.5 cm in the body; 1 decrease row (row 176); & row 177-186 2x2 ribbing (10 rows)

12/26/23 row 187-196 2x2 ribbing (10 rows) for a total of 24rows for 6cm of 2x2 ribbing; & final k row (row 197) before binding off.  Now, it was time for the sleeves! Using my 3.5mm needles k rows 1-8 then decrease in the next two (2) rounds and continue decrease every 11th & 12th rounds thereafter six (6) more times where I finished up to the first of the repeats this day for sleeve 1 (through row 22).  While I normally would do both sleeves at the same time, the ball of yarn I was using had so much yarn barf (yes, I did such a poor job of winding it into a ball this time! 😔😱😭🤦🤷), I felt that it wasn't worth the trouble of trying to do both sleeves at the same time this time around.

12/27/23 continued sleeves and decreases five (5) more times (row 23-82) for a total of 82 rows for 20.5 cm in the sleeves; then switching to my 3mm needles to start the 2x2 ribbing (row 83)

12/28/23 finish sleeve one for the remaining row 84-102 for a total of 20 rows for 5cm of 2x2 ribbing with a final k row (row 103) before binding off. Next up, sleeve two!🥳🎉🎊🙌🥰 where I did row 1-35 of the 2ne sleeve.

121/29/23 completed most of sleeve two! 🥳🎉🎊🙌  Just 11 rows and the bind off left!

12/30/23 finished sleeve two! 🥳🎉🎊 Here's what my completed sweater looks like (unblocked):

As you can see, it took me nearly 2.5 weeks to finish this sweater so, my goal of finishing three (3) sweaters is not going to happen.  But, at lest I was able to finish 1 sweater (really a record for me to complete it in 2.5 weeks! 🥳🎉🎊🙌) and I'll be able to start on the next one shortly so, maybe I'll have 1.5 sweaters done by the new year ... 🤔🤞🍀

UP-DATE: And, here's what my sweater looks like on me:
