Go World

I love watching the Olympics.  It's so amazing to see all these athletes be the best of the best at their sport of choice. :)  Plus, the Winter Olympics gives me a chance to drool at all the winter wear (i.e. sweaters, hats and gloves) that everyone's wearing! :P lol  And, it's major TV time (something I rarely do) for me. :D  Two straight weeks of watching TV, athletes giving it their best and hearing their stories has inspired me to give it my all to knitting as well during this time. :)

No, I haven't gone hog wild and knitted continuously for two weeks straight (I wish!) ... but, it has helped me set goals.  Remember back on my very first blog about my shawl and getting trapped in black?  Well, my goal was to conquer Black and move onto my other colors (at least one or two more balls of yarn).

Did I do it?  Take a look to see how far I've gotten:
Ok - to be honest, the picture you see is what I've done to date.  By the time the Olympics was over, I conquered Black, finished the warm grey and the dark brown. *yay!* :)  That's my personal best so far! :)  Not too bad, huh, for a slow poke going three rows at a time with fifteen minute breaks. ;) lol :)

Now I'm trapped in tan but only because I don't have metal tips and it's not going as smoothly (or quickly) with the bamboo tips; there's too much grip! :(  But, not to worry, there's a big sale this weekend at my favorite yarn store so, I'm getting some metal tips soon! ;)

  1. Your shawl is like a blanket. Great way to use up stash. What's your next project. I've got four wips right now.

    1. lol ... there's a lot of people telling me that ... It's a BIG shawl, not a blanket (but it is seriously starting to look like a twin size blanket)! :P I love big shawls - something that I can wrap myself in; so, it's a shawl! ;P lol :) Keep checking in to see what I'll be working on next! :)
