Spoils from Seattle 2017

I recently started a new job and as part of my new job, I was required to take some training classes.  Fortunately for me, one of those classes was in Seattle! 💞  To make the most of my time in Seattle, I was fortunate enough to be able to have a mini yarn crawl.🎊🌈

I visited:
A Michaels in Renton (I know ... cheesy but, we don't have a Michael's where I live so I wanted to see what one was like) and picked up this:
Aren't these colors so fun and cute?  And, who can resist gumdrops?!  I foresee some fun ponchos for my girls this holiday season! 😉
I couldn't resist ... My knitting buddy, D, uses this brand and I wanted to give it a try.  As you can see, I couldn't decide which color way I wanted so I just bought the two (2) that called to me the most. 😏

Makers' Mercantile in Renton:
I finally gave in and picked up these needles.  After my last run in at Narita in which I had to pack my metal needles, I'm hoping that these needles will pass security (next time).  I also picked up a pair of Boyes mini stitch holders.  I couldn't help it ... It was so tiny and cute.😉

Hubby also came up with me and picked up these:
A pair of Addi Crochet hooks in7.0 MM (US K ) & 12.0mm (US O)

So Much Yarn in Downtown Seattle:
*yay* I have a travel Gleener now!  This will come in handy during our winter trips! 😉
Hubby also picked up a set of Knitter's Pride Dreams 4.5mm (US7) double pointed needles (dpns) and a skein of Malabrigo Raverly Red to make himself his very own (knitted!) Jacques Cousteau hat!

Churchmouse Yarns & Teas in Bainbridge:
Hubby picked up a set of 4.25mm (US 6) Crystal Palace bamboo dpns & 5.0mm (US 8) Brittany birch dpns.  I couldn't resist the sock yarn ... The sample was so beautiful, I had to have a skein.

We also went to The Lost Quill (an amazing pen shop a few buildings away from Churchmouse) and found this:
A goose quill for Hubby to document his adventures!

Then, on our free weekend, my sweet brother in law and his girlfriend took us to:
Serial Knitters Yarn Shop in Kirkland:
It's called Unicorn Farts ... How can one not pick this up??🦄🌈  (Plus I picked up the last one - afterall, who know when the next Unicorn will Fart again? :P)
More Chiaogoo Cables!!  These cables are truly indispensable! 💖
Hubby couldn't resist and picked up a set of Knitter's Pride Cubics 4.5mm (US 7) dpns.
A wanted a pussy hat for her Sammy (& herself) so, she picked this up for me! *yay*

I must say, Serial Knitters Yarn Shop was an awesome shop! 😍  It was filled from floor to ceiling full of various yarns and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.  They even gave me last year's pin as I couldn't make it that far during last year's Puget Sound LYS Tour.

Then, we went to Tolt Yarn and Wool in Carnation where I picked up this:
Yup, I finally gave in and picked up a Fringe Field Bag! 💟
And a Portuguese knitting pin (so that I'll have one available when I'm ready to learn that technique) 🙃

Tolt Yarn and Wool was an amazing yarn shop! 😍❤️💕💖💗  It had an amazing array of local yarn, was warm and cozy (very hygge) and (more importantly), carried Fringe Supply items! 💟  Even my non-yarny brother-in-law was impressed with this store. 😳  (I'm "this" close to converting A to becoming a knitter! 😝  I'm getting closer to creating my very own yarny, knitting cult!  I've already sucked in Hubby and my yarn buddy, B ... Just two (2) more! 😜)

Also, while we were in Seattle, I saw this from Black Trillium Fibres:
It's called Not In My Name (an anti-Trump yarn).  As a tribute to our newly found activist, A, (yup - the same A who wants a pussy hat) I couldn't resist and picked it up.

Hubby also finally found his foldable needle threader on Amazon and it arrived while we were in Seattle:

And lastly, I found the rest of the Chiaogoo mini accessories that I was looking for (on sale!) at FiberWild.com and picked up these too while we were in Seattle:

It was a fun trip and I'm definitely going to enjoy my spoils! 🎉

  1. Yup you're right and those two Paton yarns are the ones I picked. I really like the churchmouse yarn, the color blends so well. I'm
Over all the yarns you bought.

HUbby is going to knit his hat in the round with double pointed dpns? I'm so impressed.

Let me know how you like the bent dpns.

    Btw what is a gleaner?

What a coincidence I was just looking at patterns for the pussy cat hat.

    Enjoy all your spoils.

    1. Yay! :) I can see if I can mimic your socks! ;)

I know - the Churchmouse yarn is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! :) I can't wait to see how it knits up! :)

Yup, Hubby wants to try knitting with dpns because I was telling him about how this other woman on my flight to Seattle was knitting socks with dpns and how I don't care for that method; apparently, it brought up a challenge to him to entice him to try knitting! :) Look for an up-coming blog on that! ;P

The neko needles seem ok so far; I used it a little bit while I was up in Seattle (although you should know that I was really cold and using my fingerless mitts at that time so ...). I'll try using them at home now that I'm nice and toasty again. :P

Check out my blog about my gleener: http://amimononomonogatari.blogspot.com/2016/04/more-new-toys-gleener.html

I'm glad I can show you the pussy cat hat that I intend to make! :) Send me a pic with you're done (I'm sure you'll be done faster than me! :P lol) :)
